Open Energy Hackathon

Problem Statement: Ontario utilities are transitioning to an open energy data model that democratizes data. The newly available data will create opportunities for innovation. Can third parties develop innovative solutions for energy users (residential and commercial) that can create jobs in Ontario, encourage energy efficiencies, and drive GHG reduction / electrification? The Hackathon will give you a headstart in learning how to integrate with utilities in order to use Green Button data to do all these things. We will provide access to a fully functional Green Button Toolset, using test account data, that will help you prepare to use real time standardized energy data the moment it becomes available. Technical experts and business subject matter specialists will be on hand to help.

Prizes - $500:

Best App for energy/GHG savings for residential users

Best App for energy/GHG savings for commercial users
