Sandra Ferguson

Sandra Ferguson is the Director of Policy at the Information & Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.

Sandra joined the IPC in 2022 after more than 20 years in Ontario’s public sector, where she focused on the intersections between information and privacy policy, government operations, technology and law. Sandra has built and led access, privacy, records management, archives and open government programs for ministries and Crown agencies including Treasury Board Secretariat, Ministry of the Environment and the LCBO. In her current role, Sandra leads the IPC's policy initiatives under statutes including the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA), its municipal counterpart MFIPPA, and the Child, Youth and Family Services Act. Sandra holds a Master of Information Studies from the University of Toronto.

As Director of Qwhery and a senior consultant with Perry Group Consulting, Chris helps municipalities reimagine data governance, citizen engagement, and strategic modernization. Through his own firm, 43 North GIS Consulting, he has been delivering practical, forward-thinking solutions since 2010. Chris believes that true innovation happens at the intersection of technology, leadership, and human insight — and he works tirelessly to ensure that GIS evolves not just as a tool, but as a transformational force for good. Chris has a Masters Degree in GIS from the University of Edinburgh, an Undergraduate degree in Geography from Queen’s University and is a graduate of the Cartographic Technologist program from Fleming College
