Lots Of Opportunities …

Those of you who have done volunteer work before can acknowledge that it provides us all with a good feeling and a sense of accomplishment. It also benefits us with being part of a community with like minded people and an expanded personal network that’s a great pipeline for community information.

Here’s a few of the current working groups you can join as a volunteer:

  • Communications and Marketing Working Group
    This group focuses on the development and implementation of communications guidelines, website development, social media, blogs and association marketing for memberships and sponsors.

  • Education Strategy and Knowledge Sharing Working Group
    This group focuses on the development and implementation of education and knowledge sharing opportunities to support all communities in Ontario in using open data and open government for the public good. 

  • Webinars, GOODcafé and Workshops Working Group
    This group focuses on the development of themes and speakers/panelists for the programs that GOOD undertakes throughout the year.

  • Annual Conference Working Group
    This group focuses on the development of the theme, subject content, recruiting speakers/panelists and coordination for the entire conference including: workshops, main conference and hackathon.

  • Community Engagement Working Group
    This group focuses the development of a community engagement strategy which includes members, potential members, other non-profit organizations, the public sector and private sector solution providers.

  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Working Group
    This group focuses on development of guidelines for GOOD implementation of diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization and as part of GOOD’s knowledge sharing programs.

  • Technology Working Group
    This group focuses on leveraging technology to drive the GOOD miission by assessing available tools and solutions on an ongoing basis in order to enhance organizational events, communications, operations, and enable unique partnership opportunities.

  • Corporate Administration and Financial Working Group
    This group focuses on the overall administration of running the association, maintaining financial records, development of policies and providing required reporting to CRA and Corporations Canada.

  • Projects Working Group
    This group focuses on the definition of GOOD projects and establishes plans for implementation including technology, resources needs and the opportunities to collaborate with other organizations.

  • Membership Working Group
    This group focuses on adding value to the GOOD membership and developing membership recruitment plans to assist in engaging with the community and contributing to revenue generation for a sustainable GOOD.
