Knowledge Sharing & Community Building

Helping To Open Up.

None of us know everything. And the amount of knowledge is growing exponentially. GOOD is commited to sharing knowledge and building the open community.

GOOD began with a one day event in 2013 which grew to an annual conference. Now in 2021 we’re offering events all year long on diverse subject matter and offered via Zoom webinars, GOODcafe lunch sessions, workshops, annual conference and hackathons.

Continuous Learning …

As in other disciplines, open data and open government is continually evolving. GOOD strives to provide ongoing webinars and other events between our annual conferences to address current topics of interest. The introductory webinars are open to everyone while the more detailed follow-up webinars are for members only.

Shorter and more informal than a Webinar …

While working, we seldom have lots of time to spend catching up. But we do try and squeeze in a break or two and that’s where the 1/2 hour lunchtime GOODcafé comes in.

We’re offering the virtual lunch break on a bi-monthly basis, interviewing key people inside and outside the open community - providing insights into Open Data’s past, present and future.

If you are interested in being a subject of a cafè chat let us know - connect@go-opendata.ca. For the current GOODcafé menu, see here.

GOOD Annual Conference - Spring

Themes change every year yet maintain a focus on data and sustainable communities

GOOD’s flagship event …

The GOOD annual conference has been happening since 2013 - excepting 2020 (COVID-19). We’ve had the annual conference as a virtual event, an in-person event and hybrid event.

Check out the latest on our conferences in the Conference tab on the main menu.
